Services

G & L Consultancy Ltd is a specialist asbestos consultancy.  This specialisation means that our time is not divided amongst a variety of disciplines, which has allowed us to develop the following comprehensive package of services dedicated to asbestos:

Surveys to HSG264 Asbestos: The survey guide

Although the Control of Asbestos Regulations (CAR 2006) defines a duty to manage as opposed to a duty to survey, the process of identifying where your asbestos containing products might be typically requires a survey.  As such, one of the asbestos surveys specified by HSG264 Asbestos: The survey guide should be considered to ensure your compliance to CAR 2006.

Use this page to find out which Survey best meets your needs.

Air Monitoring

Air Monitoring and analysis is the only practical way of discovering whether the air you are breathing contains asbestos fibres. If you have had asbestos removed or discovered damaged asbestos, you should consider some sort of air monitoring.

Use this page to find out which type of air monitoring to use, and when to use it.

Bulk Sample Analysis

Over time, more than 3,000 products have been developed that contain asbestos; a great many of these were used in the building trade. The only way to be sure whether a material contains asbestos is to have it analysed by a UKAS accredited laboratory.

Use this page to find how to check whether a material contains asbestos.

Asbestos Management

Having an Asbestos Survey done is only a part of your Duty to Manage the asbestos in your property under CAR 2006.  Now that you know where it is, what are you going to do to ensure that no one is exposed it it?

Managing your asbestos, once you know where it is, includes; controlling the risk, providing information, instruction and training to anyone that might come in contact with it and ensuring that any asbestos in a ‘poor’ condition is dealt with.  You may well need help with some or all of this.

Use this page to find out whether you have complied with your duty to manage.

Training and Seminars

If you, or any of your staff and employees, are likely to come into contact with asbestos, you must ensure that suitable information, instruction and training has been provided to prevent any exposure or contamination.

Use this page to discover your information, instruction and training needs.
