Asbestos Surveys & TestingAbout Asbestos Surveys & Testing

Asbestos is a material that was widely used in construction until the 1990s. The fibres can become airborne and when inhaled, can cause health issues. Therefore, it is important to identify and manage asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) in buildings, whether through sampling, surveying, or air monitoring.

Air Monitoring & Fibre Counting

Air monitoring is a crucial part of asbestos management. G&L provides air monitoring services to assess the level of airborne asbestos fibres and ensure they are below the legal limit. We are respiratory safety experts, protecting your wellbeing while empowering safety and elevating knowledge.

Asbestos Surveying & Reinspection

G&L provides a comprehensive asbestos management service and can conduct a survey to identify and manage any asbestos-containing materials in your building. Once identified, the ACMs must be regularly reinspected to ensure they remain safe and contained. If you are planning a renovation or demolition project, it is crucial to start with a more in-depth intrusive survey to identify any further ACMs hidden within the fabric of your building. We have unmatched expertise in all types of asbestos surveys and use a people-first approach with an unwavering commitment to reliability and professionalism. All our services ensure that ACMs are being managed in compliance with legal obligations and industry best practices.

Asbestos Sampling

If you suspect that a material in your building contains asbestos, G&L can provide you with asbestos sampling services. We attend site to safely sample the specific material that is suspected to contain asbestos and then following analysis provide a report on the results within a day of the initial sampling. This fast turnaround provides you with peace of mind as to the nature of the material and how it needs to be managed if proven to be an ACM.

Sample Analysis

G&L have two purpose built laboratories for the analysis of samples suspected of containing asbestos. With our own in-house UKAS accredited laboratories we can ensure all results are delivered on time and are accurate. Whilst most samples are analysed on a 2-3 day turnaround, we are also able to offer a while you wait service for when you need an instant result in order to avoid costly delays to an ongoing project.

Water Absorption Testing

Water absorption testing is important to determine whether ACMs are cement or asbestos insulating board. This test helps to determine whether the material should be dealt with under licensed or non-licensed conditions. G&L uses a reliable and accurate water absorption testing method to classify asbestos-containing board materials.

At G&L, we are committed to building safer environments together as your partner in training and asbestos management. Our comprehensive asbestos management services, unmatched expertise, and people-first approach ensure that you receive the best service possible. Trust in our reliability and professionalism, every time.
